We are seeking a detail-oriented SEO Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing technical SEO strategies to improve our clients’ website performance, local search engine rankings, and visibility within AI-based search and generative AI results (e.g., Google’s SGE, Gemini, ChatGPT). This role requires a strong understanding of SEO best practices, technical website optimization, local SEO, and the ability to analyze data to drive actionable insights. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a remote work environment and can manage their time effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough technical SEO audits and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Optimize website structure, internal linking, and page speed.
  • Implement schema markup, canonical tags, and other technical SEO elements.
  • Executing on local SEO strategies and best practices, including Google Business Profiles (GBP)
  • Monitor and resolve crawl errors, broken links, and other issues affecting SEO.
  • Collaborate with web developers to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented.
  • Analyze and report on website performance using SEO tools and analytics platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm changes, and industry best practices, with a focus on implications for generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and AI-based search result presentation.
  • Perform competitive analysis and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with keyword research and on-page optimization.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical SEO.
  • Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SE Ranking, and others.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development technologies.
  • Proficiency in local SEO strategies and best practices, including Google Places.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, proactive nature, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with various types of websites, with demonstrated success with local SEO.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the healthcare or medical device industry.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress.
  • Knowledge of server-side configurations and hosting environments.
  • Google Data Analytics Certification.

Compensation Range:

Competitive hourly rate or monthly retainer based on experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • The selected candidate will be required to sign a non-solicitation agreement and confidentiality agreement as part of the contracting process.
