How to Create a Daily Online Marketing Habit That Works

Are you struggling to maintain a consistent schedule promoting your practice online? If you’re like most doctors, the answer is yes.

Online marketing success for doctors relies on consistent content creation and platform management.

Here are three steps to help you create a daily habit that works for building your online platform.

1). Set Your Goal

The very first step in creating any habit is setting your goal. Without it, you have no clear vision making it harder to succeed.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish…”

Proverbs 29:18a

My recommendation for a goal is to commit to publishing a new blog post every week. This means that you’ll be writing and promoting new content on your site here on out each week.

Why?

Google sees consistent content being published as you making an “investment” into your site. This is perhaps one of the biggest differentiators between doctors whose websites rank well and those who don’t.

2). Create One Daily Action Item

Even if you’re going to publish once a week, it’s helpful for many to break the goal down into smaller pieces.

A good daily action item is to write 100-250 words per workday. This means that by the time you need to publish your weekly blog post, you’ll have between 500-1,250 words written for the post.

Why so many?

The longer the post, the better. This may go against what many feel about audience attention, but long-form content tends to produce better results. Most importantly, Google favors it as they see it as more valuable, resulting in better SERPs.

3). Enlist Accountability

Just like diet and exercise, it’s too easy to procrastinate or punt on anything that takes consistent effort over time to produce results. But, it is the consistent effort over time that leads to the big wins.

Let me encourage you to share your content creation goal with an accountability partner.

The results, in the end, will be worth it.
